Publishing and Web Content

In January 2011, we launched The Fine Line as a publisher and released our first title, The Pocketbook Of Prompts: 52 Ideas For A Story in print and kindle.  To buy, read on, and see what the writers say, go to the  book shop.

In March, we released our second title, The Perfect Word: The Fine Line Writing Course in audio, print and kindle.  To read more about it and listen to samples, visit the book shop.

The March-May inaugural Fine Line Short Story Competition received 238 entries with £1 from each entry fee donated to charity.   The collection of winning stories, Even Birds Are Chained to the Sky and Other Tales, is available in kindle and in print and e-book at The Fine Line Shop.

Forthcoming titles include Bixby’s Canine Capers by Chris Hammer, a runner-up in the Fine Line Short Story Competition and How to Ditch The Rules and Live Happily Ever After, a collaboration between artist Sarah C Bell and Kate Gould about how fabulous your life can be when you’re not tied to the dictates of the dating manifesto, The Rules.

If you would like to submit your work for our consideration, please send a synopsis and first three chapters, along with a short bio, to kate.gould@editorial-consultancy.co.uk.  We consider all genres and audiences.  Our only stipulation is that it must enthral.

Our chief editorial consultant and commissioning editor, Kate Gould, also offers a web content service, providing you with personalised content for your site.  For examples of  her work, please visit The Criticess, The Blank Page and My Beautiful Chandelier.  She has written on a diverse range of subjects including relationships, fashion and beauty, writing techniques, politics, sex, books, inspiration for writers, advertising, film, music, writers, interior design, science, and entertainment.

For enquiries, please email kate.gould@editorial-consultancy.co.uk

“Precious few editors can immerse themselves in a writer’s creative vision and materially participate in the realization of that vision without imposing their own.”
